Vietnam's tea exports in May 2022 saw a slight decrease in volume but an increase in value compared to the same period in 2021, with the average export price per ton reaching $1,775.1. From January to May 2022, the total tea exports experienced a decrease in both volume and value, despite a growth in the Pakistani market. The Lai Chau province, known for its large tea area and diverse tea varieties, is facing challenges in standardization, innovation, and market access due to the COVID-19 pandemic and high transportation costs. To enhance its export performance, the province is encouraged to connect with international businesses for investment, trade, and consumption collaboration. Despite these challenges, Lai Chau's tea products have found success in Middle Eastern and South Asian markets, indicating untapped potential for growth.
