The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has lauded the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock for securing access to the Panamanian market for Brazilian chicken and pork. This development follows a request by the Brazilian government to the Panamanian Food Agency. With a population of 4.4 million and high consumption rates of these meats, Panama represents a lucrative market. In 2023, Panama's imports of chicken and pork were mainly from North America. The new market access is expected to diversify Panama's protein sources and support local production, benefiting Brazilian processors and suppliers. ABPA President Ricardo Santin commended Minister Carlos Fávaro and his team for their successful efforts.
