Brazil: Pará produced more than 13 million hybrid cocoa seeds in 2023

Approximately 13.4 million hybrid cocoa seeds were produced last year in Pará, with resources financed by the state's Cocoa Production Development Fund (Funcacau). Across the state, 11.548 million seeds were distributed to 5,587 producers in 69 municipalities. The data was presented at the extraordinary meeting of the Funcacau Management Council, which is coordinated by the Secretariat for Agricultural and Fisheries Development (Sedap), with the presentation of the 2023 activity report. The execution of the hybrid seed production project is carried out in an integrated manner between the state institution and the Executive Committee of the Cocoa Farming Plan (Ceplac) with an investment of R$ 771,618.00.
