Paraguayan company, Frutas del Paraguay, has started harvesting persimmons from its 100-hectare farm in the Misiones department, four years after planting. The company aims to primarily export the fruit to Europe, but is also looking at other potential markets. Another persimmon farm, CerroCosta, also spanning 100 hectares, was visited by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, who expressed government support for such innovative and profitable ventures.
