The USDA's October World Agricultural Production report has revised upwards Paraguay's wheat production forecast for the 2024/25 marketing year to 1.3 million metric tons, marking a 13% increase from previous estimates and a substantial 46% rise compared to the previous year. This is despite the harvested area remaining unchanged at 500,000 hectares. The average yield is expected to rise by 13% to 2.60 tons per hectare, which is a 37% increase from the previous year. The positive conditions during the growing season, including favorable weather and the introduction of new seed varieties, have contributed to the improved outlook.
