Paraguarí, renowned for its potato and onion production, is currently facing a crisis due to an oversupply and a lack of market demand. This has resulted in significant financial losses for small and medium producers. The problem is further compounded by smuggling, which introduces competition and drives down prices. The absence of public policies to support fair market access and organize the sector has exacerbated the situation. Farmers feel that they are being neglected by the Government, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and are crying out for more support.
