The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez, indicated that this trade agreement, which will allow Paraguay to export deboned and frozen pork to Taiwan with zero tariff starting July 5, will double pork exports and generate an immediate impact on job creation throughout the country. The head of the Industry and Commerce portfolio noted that the measure will not only increase exports, which could go from USD 50 million per year to USD 100 million, but will also strengthen the entire value chain, from agricultural production to industry and transportation. He emphasized the job creation that this agreement will have within the pork sector, promoting formalization and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises dedicated to pig breeding and pork processing.
