A report by Capeco has highlighted that Brazil is the leading destination for Paraguay's maize shipments, accounting for 40% of the total exports. Other significant markets include Chile, South Korea, Uruguay, and 15% of other countries such as Peru, Vietnam, Japan, Mauritius, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Cape Verde, and Colombia. From May 2023 to April 2024, Paraguay exported 3,577,916 tons of maize, with Brazil, Chile, South Korea, and Uruguay receiving 40%, 23%, 12%, and 10% of the exports respectively. The report indicates a trend towards increasing shipping to exotic markets and a diversification of export destinations.
