The Agricultural Conjuncture Bulletin released this Thursday (27) by the Rural Economy Department (Deral), from the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, pointed out the position of guava in the Brazilian fruit farming scenario. According to the document, the fruit occupies "23,000 hectares (ha), being the sixteenth in Gross Production Value – GPV (R$ 1.4 billion), the eighteenth in area, and the fifteenth in volumes harvested (584.2 thousand tons)", according to IBGE data for 2024. Compared to the total national fruit farming, of 3.2 million hectares, 43.3 million tons, and R$ 107.5 billion, guava represents 0.7% of the cultivated area and 1.3% of both production and GPV. The bulletin records that Pernambuco, São Paulo, and Paraná concentrate 72.3% of the national harvests, with participations of "33.4%, 24.4%, and 10.8%", respectively.
