Paraná resumes chicken exports to Malaysia

According to information released by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of Paraná (Seab), the announcement of the resumption of Brazilian chicken meat trade with Malaysia may have positive effects on the economy of Paraná. The import was suspended since the registration of avian flu in a commercial farm in Montenegro, Rio Grande do Sul. The farms in Paraná did not register any cases. In 2024, the exports of chicken meat from Paraná to Malaysia generated, on average, US$ 564,550 per month, totaling US$ 6.77 million for the year. The State exported 4,350 tons, equivalent to 0.2% of the total 2.17 million tons exported in the period. According to Agrostat/Mapa data, Malaysia was the 46th destination of Paraná's chicken exports in 2024, out of a total of 138 countries.
