Parliamentarians: The decision to raise sugar cane and sugar beet supply prices ensures food security in Egypt

Parliamentarians welcomed the government's announcement to raise the prices of sugar cane supply to EGP 2,500 per ton and sugar beet to EGP 2,400 per ton, stressing that it is an important step to ensure achieving Egyptian food security. The Cabinet agreed during its meeting last Thursday to set the indicative prices for sugar crops for the 2025 season to be EGP 2,500 for the supply of a ton of sugar cane and EGP 2,400 for the supply of a ton of sugar beet.
