In compliance with the sixty-fifth final complementary provision of Law No. 32416, the Olmos Tinajones Special Project (PEOT) assumed the operation and maintenance of the Transfer Component of the Olmos Project, ensuring the continuity of service for the agricultural sustainability of Lambayeque. Since September 26, 2025, the PEOT —technical body of the Regional Government of Lambayeque— began the direct management of the Limón Dam and the Trasandino Tunnel, following the completion of the concession contract with the Olmos Transfer Concessionaire (CTO). This return of the emblematic work to public administration constitutes a historic milestone in the management of water resources in Peru. The transfer included the inventory of more than 1000 goods and assets, the registration of professional and technical personnel in the AIRHSP application, and coordination with Midagri and the MEF to ensure an orderly transition.
