France has seen a significant increase in pear harvest in November, reaching 134,000 tonnes due to favorable weather conditions, with the Guyot harvest alone increasing by 61% compared to 2023. Italy is also recovering from a poor harvest last year, with pear volumes more than doubling compared to 2023, although still not at full production capacity. The Netherlands and Belgium are dealing with lower stocks after last spring's hail, but sales are stable. There is a shift in control over pear prices from retailers and distributors to growers, bringing a new dynamic to the industry. In Germany, pear cultivation is expanding, particularly in the Altes Land region near Hamburg, with an expected harvest of around 9,000 tonnes this year.
