Pepper prices in Indonesia saw a slight decrease on December 25, 2024, with Lampung black pepper and Muntok white pepper priced at 6,835 USD/ton and 8,945 USD/ton respectively. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper and ASTA white pepper were priced at 8,400 USD/ton and 10,600 USD/ton. Brazil's market saw a trade of 6,275 USD/ton for ASTA 570 black pepper. In Vietnam, the export price for black and white pepper was 6,400 USD/ton and 9,600 USD/ton respectively. Despite the decrease in Indonesia, global pepper prices remained stable in other countries. Vietnam has seen a significant increase in pepper export earnings, reaching 1.26 billion USD, a significant increase from 2023, with domestic prices remaining stable around 144,000 - 145,000 VND/kg. However, an ongoing drought is expected to delay the 2025 pepper crop harvest, potentially leading to a tighter supply and increased demand.
