On April 6, 2024, the global pepper market experienced a minor uptick in prices in Indonesia, with both Lampung black pepper and Muntok white pepper prices increasing by 0.31%. However, pepper prices in other major producing countries like Malaysia, Brazil, and Vietnam remained stable. In Vietnam, despite stable domestic prices, pepper exports for February 2024 saw a decline in both volume and value compared to January 2024 and the previous year, although the average export price rose. Vietnam is now aiming to enhance its pepper exports to several countries including the US, India, Germany, the Netherlands, Korea, and Egypt, while reducing its export focus on the United Arab Emirates and the UK.
