As of July 1, 2024, global pepper prices have remained stable with Lampung black pepper in Indonesia and Muntok white pepper in Malaysia priced at 7,106 USD/ton and 9,048 USD/ton respectively. Vietnamese pepper exports are trading at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l black pepper and 9,500 USD/ton for white pepper. The domestic pepper market in Vietnam has also remained steady, with prices ranging from 153,000 VND/kg to 157,000 VND/kg. However, high sea freight prices due to congestion and conflict in the Red Sea have led to a sharp increase in Vietnam's export pepper prices. Despite a decrease in export volume, the value has increased significantly, potentially helping the pepper industry achieve its billion-dollar export target for the year.
