Pepper prices in Vietnam have decreased sharply in most key locations, ranging from 155,000 VND/kg to 157,000 VND/kg, a significant drop of 3,000 - 7,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. This decrease comes after a slight increase the day before. Meanwhile, international pepper prices have also seen fluctuations, with Vietnamese black pepper experiencing a sharp increase of 6.84%, and white pepper increasing by 12.14%. This is due to various factors such as speculation, reduced production forecasts, and scarce supply. The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association has noted that Vietnam has exported nearly 70% of its current crop's output, leading to a narrow supply, and Vietnamese businesses are facing difficulties in importing pepper for processing due to rising world pepper prices and decreasing output from major producing countries.
