Drought conditions in several key agricultural areas are causing delays in sowing and planting of crops such as winter wheat, corn, and soybeans, leading to a speculative increase in prices in the stock markets. The drought is particularly affecting eastern Ukraine and southwestern Russia, as well as southern Brazil, the west and north of Argentina, and certain regions of Ukraine. As of mid-September, sowing plans remain unmet in these areas. However, favorable weather is expected to soon alleviate the drought in some regions. Meanwhile, the United States and Canadian prairies are experiencing favorable conditions for harvest, and Europe is facing delays due to heavy rainfall and winds.
