Peru and Chile have reached an agreement to reinstate Peruvian mangoes to the Chilean market, following a bilateral meeting between the phytosanitary authorities of both countries. The deal was signed by Andrea Collao of SAG Chile and Miguel Quevedo of Senasa. The mango production chain in Peru saw significant growth, with a FOB value of 324 million 668,460 dollars during the 2020-2021. The Kent mango variety dominates exports, accounting for 94% of shipments. The agreement also covers other agricultural products like grapes and fresh eggs, and the agricultural health authority is supporting Peruvian products with phytosanitary support and certification of production sites and shipments.
