In October 2024, Peru experienced a significant growth in artichoke exports, with a total of 8,431 tons earning US$ 23.7 million for the country, marking a 29% increase in volume and a 35% increase in value compared to the previous year. Spain and the United States emerged as the primary markets, with Spain receiving 46% of the shipments and the United States taking 43%. The average price per kilogram also saw a slight increase to US$ 2.81. Novoliz S.A. and Agrícola Miranda S.A.C. were the leading exporters to Spain, while Novoliz S.A. and Inversiones Gran Canaria S.A.C. dominated exports to the United States. DP World and APM Terminals played crucial roles as the main ports of embarkation for these exports.
