From January to July 2021, Peru experienced a significant boost in its fruit and vegetable exports, with a 26% increase compared to the same period in 2020, totaling $2.8 billion. The exports consisted of a variety of fresh, dried, frozen, and canned fruits, with avocados and table grapes contributing significantly to this total. Avocado exports alone saw a 43% increase, reaching $925 million, while table grape exports increased by 33% to $538 million. Other fruits such as mangoes, tangerines, and blueberries also experienced increases in their export values. The United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, and China were the top importers of these fruits. Additionally, vegetable exports also saw a 15% increase, amounting to $480 million, with the United States being the primary market for these exports.
