Peru has emerged as a significant player in the global market for ginger and turmeric, ranking as the third and eighth largest exporter of these spices respectively in 2022. With ginger exports valued at $63,080,000 and turmeric at $4,229,000, Peru has captured substantial shares of the global market. This achievement was highlighted during the announcement of 'Ginger Week 2024', an event organized by ADEX and ProGinger in Satipo, Junín. The event aims to bring together stakeholders from the ginger and turmeric production chains for discussions, seminars, and field visits, supported by international organizations such as the USDA and Sippo.
