Peru positioned itself in 11th place as a global passion fruit supplier in 2024.

(Agraria.pe) In 2024, the global market for passion fruit and other exotic fruits reached US$ 3,875,000,000, reporting an increase of +9.7% compared to the previous year, according to the report “Passion Fruit: Evolution of the International and National Market,” conducted by the Research Center for Economics and Global Business of the Association of Exporters (CIEN-ADEX). It detailed that that year, Peru ranked 11th among global suppliers of these fruits; while in the region it was positioned in third place, behind Ecuador and Colombia. China, the United States, and the Netherlands were consolidated as the main buyers. The report also indicates that between 2000 and 2024, Peruvian shipments of passion fruit grew at an average annual rate of +7%, basically due to a peak in exports achieved in 2023.
