Exports of processed mandarins from Peru experienced significant growth, increasing by 71% on average each year since 2017. In 2021, exports reached 14,483 tons valued at USD 26 million. The United States and Germany were the primary markets, accounting for 92% and 5% of imports, respectively. Dole Packaged Foods Llc. and Heb Grocery Company L.P. were the largest buyers in the U.S., while Henry Lamotte Food GmbH and Marimax Sp ZOO were the main buyers in Germany. However, exports to Germany saw a decrease in both volume and value in 2021 compared to the previous year. The average price of processed citrus in the U.S. was USD 1.86 per kilogram, a 10% decrease from the previous year, and in Germany, it was USD 0.96 per kilogram, 28% lower than in 2020.
