Peru sends its first shipment of pecans to China

As part of the commitment to continue driving the country's agro-export growth, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation reported that the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) certified the first shipment of pecans destined for China. With this shipment, Peru makes its first export of 25 tons to the important Asian market, which has more than 1400 million potential consumers. "These are the results of the work that the Government has been doing to allow Peruvian products to enter more markets in the world. In November last year, we achieved access and today, the producers of San Juan Bautista in Ica are making the dream of agro-export a reality," stated Minister Angel Manero. The inspection carried out by Senasa aims to ensure compliance with the phytosanitary protocols agreed upon with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC).
