In July 2024, Peruvian pea exports experienced a significant surge, with a 65% increase in revenue amounting to US$ 10.7 million compared to the same month in the previous year. This increase was primarily due to a 64% rise in volume, reaching 3,060 tons from 1,861 tons, despite the average price per kilogram remaining stable at US$ 3.48. The exports were evenly distributed between sweet and snow peas, and were delivered to 10 different destinations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Netherlands, Japan, and Canada. FRG Farms S.A.C., Fair Fruit Perú S.A.C., and other companies were the leading exporters, and the shipments were primarily handled by DP World, with some contributions from APM Terminals and Jorge Chávez International Airport.
