The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) of Peru has successfully signed phytosanitary protocols with China, enabling the export of chestnuts, pecans, and frozen fruits (including blueberries, mangoes, and avocados) to China for the first time. This agreement is part of Peru's strategy to boost its agricultural exports to China, which is expected to grow by 20% in the coming years, benefiting from the new port terminal in Chancay and the recognition of Peru as a country free of foot-and-mouth disease. The exports will adhere to China's strict food safety and plant quarantine regulations, and negotiations are underway for the export of additional products like pomegranate, pitahaya, cherry, and blueberry plants.
