Between January and October 2024, Turkey exports experienced a significant increase of 38.2%, reaching US$ 2 million 730 thousand from US$ 1 million 975 thousand the previous year, as reported by the Association of Exporters (ADEX). Ecuador emerged as the leading consumer, accounting for 90.3% of the exports, followed by Bolivia and Cuba. The main exporters were San Fernando S.A., Corporación de Granjas del Perú S.A.C. and Redondos S.A. The surge in exports is attributed to the nutritional benefits of turkey meat, which is lean and rich in protein, B vitamins, and essential minerals, making it a popular choice for its health benefits. The exports were predominantly from Lima and were concentrated in July and August with peak exports of US$ 414 thousand and US$ 325 thousand respectively.
