With funding close to $14 million, the Ministry of the Environment (Minam) will launch the project "Regenerative Livestock to Promote Sustainable Landscapes," in coordination with more than 20,000 cattle, sheep, and camel producers in the regions of Cusco, Puno, Apurímac, Cajamarca, Piura, and Lambayeque. This initiative is part of the national strategies for adaptation and mitigation in the face of climate change. In this regard, the Vice Minister of Strategic Development of Natural Resources of the sector, Raquel Soto Torres, highlighted that this investment "represents a historic opportunity to transform the livestock activity that is carried out above all in fragile ecosystems, promoting practices that restore soils, optimize water use, recover landscapes, and generate environmental and social benefits for rural communities."
