Peru's fruit exports exceeded US$2.1 billion in the first half of the year, with grapes and avocados leading the way

According to the report of the Peruvian Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (Midagri), the export value of Peruvian fruits and vegetables in the first half of 2023 will be US$3.91 billion, an increase of 6.2% from the US$3.68 billion in the same period of 2022. Among them, the export value of fruits will reach US$2.12 billion, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year , accounting for 54.2% of the total fruit and vegetable exports. From the perspective of export categories, the main export fruits include fresh table grapes about 670 million US dollars, avocados about 620 million US dollars, fresh mangoes about 210 million US dollars, and fresh cranberries about 190 million US dollars. Mangoes are outstanding among frozen fruits. The export volume reached 95 million US dollars. In terms of export destinations, the top three countries are: the United States accounted for 27.9% of the total export volume, the Netherlands accounted for 15.2%, and Spain accounted for 6.7%. ...
