In January 2023, Peru experienced a slight increase in its air exports, totaling 8,686 tons, which was 1.1% higher than the previous year. The majority of these exports were fruits and vegetables, with fresh and chilled asparagus being the most prominent at 4,166 tons, marking a 24.1% increase from January 2022. Mangoes were the second most exported product, but there was a decrease of 10.3% compared to the previous year. Blueberries rounded out the top three with a year-on-year increase of 32.1%. Frío Aéreo anticipates that mangoes may surpass asparagus as the leading air export and also expects to start exporting dragon fruit for the first time in 2023.
