Peruvian bean exports experienced a significant growth between January and October 2022, with a 17% increase in volume and a 15% increase in value, amounting to 48,566 tons and US$67 million respectively. This growth is primarily due to the decrease in bean cultivation by competitors in favor of more profitable crops and lower production in the main export markets, leading to a supply deficit. The majority of the exports were made by over 100 companies to more than 47 countries, with the United States, South Korea, and the Dominican Republic being the main destinations. However, there was a decrease in exports to Asia and Europe due to high logistics costs and competition from other countries.
