Peru has expanded its blueberry export markets, reaching Israel and Jordan for the first time this season, and is in the process of opening markets in several other countries, including Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand, and Ecuador. The country, already the world's largest blueberry producer and exporter, is expecting a 25% increase in exports for the 2022-2023 campaign, with 90% of shipments expected to be made between August and December. Organic blueberry exports have reached a record high of 2,026 tons in a week, with 10,402 tons exported this campaign, a 144% increase from the previous one. The industry is projected to generate up to 135,000 direct jobs this campaign, with 58% of these jobs being held by women.
