The Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and Cocoa is considering the participation of Peru in Chocstock, New Zealand's largest artisanal chocolate festival. The general manager of the chamber, Antonio Arbe, met with the New Zealand ambassador, José Bustinza, to discuss the possibility. The festival, which will take place in June, promotes the use of ethically sourced cocoa and the bean-to-bar method. It also emphasizes sustainability and traceability, which are becoming increasingly important due to the upcoming European Union Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), set to be implemented at the end of 2024. These issues will also be discussed at the 26th National Coffee and Cocoa Convention.
