In March 2024, Peru's cocoa exports experienced a notable surge, increasing by 25% from the previous year to reach 6,993 tons. The exports were predominantly in the form of beans, constituting 67.5% of the total, with the remainder comprising butter (18.1%), powder (8.9%), and processed cocoa (5.5%). Mexico emerged as the top destination for these exports, absorbing 21.9% of the total volume, followed by Belgium, the United States, Canada, and Germany. The leading companies facilitating these exports were Cafetalera Amazónica S.A.C., Machu Picchu Foods S.A.C., and Qori Mayo S.A.C., highlighting their significant role in the industry's growth.
