Peruvian coffee exports in 2022 saw a significant increase in volume and value, making it the country's third most exported agricultural product. However, the first quarter of 2023 has seen a dramatic decrease in both volume and value exported, due to weather conditions and social protests, as well as a decrease in global prices as Brazilian production recovers. Despite these challenges, coffee exported to over 30 countries, with the United States, Germany, and Belgium being the main importers. Unroasted Arabica coffee was the most demanded presentation in both the United States and Europe. Perales Huancaruna S.A.C. and Comercio Amazonía S.A. were the leading agro-exporters in the first quarter of 2023.
