Peruvian dragon fruit: exports grow by 73.9% in volume despite price drop

In the first 10 months of 2025, Peruvian dragon fruit exports reached 724 tons for $1.8 million, achieving a strong increase of 73.9% in volume and 26.9% in value compared to the same period last year. Spain and the Netherlands led the purchases of the fruit from Peru, while the industry seeks in dehydrated products the key to raising the profitability margin, reported FreshFruit. The average export price of Peruvian dragon fruit showed strong variability during 2025. In general terms, this fruit had a reduction in its price from $3.37/kg in 2024 to $2.46/kg in 2025. On a monthly level, the best performance was seen in August, when it reached its peak at $13.40/kg. On the contrary, the lowest prices of the period were recorded in February ($1.81/kg) and April ($2.09/kg). The international demand was concentrated in Europe, with Spain consolidated as the main buyer with $790,138.
