Peruvian exports of fresh figs grow 48.4% in volume in the middle of the 2020/2021 campaign

(Agraria.pe) From October 2020 to February 2021, Peruvian exports of fresh figs totaled 834,295 kilos, representing an increase of 48.4% compared to the 562,148 kilos shipped in the same months of the previous season (2019/2020). This was indicated by the president of the consulting firm Inform @ cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, who stressed that the export campaign of this fruit by Peru is from October to June, with the peak months being between November and January. In this regard, he highlighted that in the first five months of this season (October-February), 3.3% more volume of fresh figs was exported than in the entire previous season (October-June), where 807,410 kilos were shipped. He explained that in the current 2020/2021 campaign the behavior of shipments was as follows: October 71,318 kilos, November 239,948 kilos, December 245,295 kilos, January 206,466 kilos, February 71,268 kilos, March (as of the 22nd) 63,000 kilos.
