Peruvian exports of menestras grow +5.5% in value and fall -16.1% in volume between January and May 2023

(Agraria.pe) Between January and May 2023, Peruvian exports of menestras totaled US$ 26.8 million, showing an increase of +5.5% compared to what was achieved in the same period last year. In addition, between January and May 2022, a growth of +5% was registered compared to the same period of 2021. This was reported by the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (Comex Peru), which noted that in the first five months of this year, shipments of beans from Peru amounted to 14,817 tons, which represented a drop of -16.1% compared to the same period of the previous year (2,834 tons less). He explained that the main bean exported during the analyzed period of this year, are the pallares whose shipments amounted to US$ 10.2 million, which represented 38% of the total exported and a growth of +25.2% compared to the same period of 2022.
