In 2020, Peruvian ginger exports saw a significant increase, with a total of 50,649 tons valued at $106 million, marking a 156% increase in value and an 116% increase in volume compared to the previous year. Europe was the primary market, with over $55 million, led by the U.S. and the Netherlands. This growth, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, was welcomed by the Association of Agricultural Producers Guilds of Peru, crediting the success to the sector's resilience and the hard work of hundreds of small-medium producers, predominantly from the Junin region.
