Peruvian olive exports fall -14.51% in volume in January 2024

(Agraria.pe) The olive, positioned as the twentieth product with the highest shipments in 2023 and nineteenth in 2022, has had a start to the year with a drop in the volume of exports. In January 2024, shipments recorded 490 tons, equivalent to 0.15% of the month's agricultural exports. This number reflects a drop of -14.51% compared to 2023. In terms of destinations, in January 2024, Peruvian olives were exported to six countries, marking a decrease compared to the nine countries registered in the same period of 2023. The United States led the destinations with 63.82%, representing 313 tons. Brazil followed, with 14.38%, equivalent to 70 tons; Panama, with 7.03% (34 tons); Canada, with 5.34% (26 tons); Colombia, with 4.91% (24 tons); and Spain, with 4.53% (22 tons). The predominant shipping port was the Callao Port Terminal, accounting for the entire exported volume of olives.
