In September 2024, Peru's orange exports experienced a decrease in volume but an increase in value due to supply issues in Brazil and the US, leading to higher prices. The Netherlands was the primary destination, with the average price per kilogram increasing significantly. The US and Dominican Republic also imported a larger volume of Peruvian oranges, but the average price per kilogram decreased in both countries. Additionally, a majority of the exported oranges were fresh, with a small percentage being used for juice and freezing. Leading Peruvian exporters included Agromar Industrial S.A., Selva Industrial S.A., and Marzala Export S.A.C., and the exports were primarily shipped through Callao, with transportation handled by APM Terminals and DP World.
