Peruvian paprika exporters are poised to expand into new markets this year, following difficulties in China, the world's largest supplier, due to issues with residues and pollutants. Walter Seras, president of the Capsicum Committee of the Association of Exporters (ADEX), believes Peru's high-quality table paprika could attract Spain and other countries. ADEX plans to develop a promotional strategy and reinstate the Capsicum Sustainable Development Plan to boost the sector. Despite challenges, the committee anticipates a slight growth in capsicum exports. Notably, paprika, piquillo pepper, bell pepper, and jalapeño exports are projected to increase, while piquillo peppers and bell peppers are expected to decline.
