Peruvian exports of dried paprika to Mexico experienced a 64% surge in value, reaching US$56.8 million from January to November 2022, due to issues with Mexico's domestic production and climatic challenges in China, a key competitor. This growth positions Peru as a dominant supplier, with exports to Mexico projected to hit US$80 million by year-end 2023. In contrast, exports to Spain saw a 20% decline due to lower prices from Chinese suppliers. Despite the price disadvantage, Peruvian producers continue to find success in the Mexican market due to the quality of their product and the quality concerns with Chinese paprika. Overall, Peruvian paprika exports to all markets saw a 14% increase, totaling US$108.8 million from January to November 2022.
