In August 2024, Peruvian turmeric exports saw a significant surge, with a total of 295 tons earning $672,000, marking a 16% increase in volume and a 53% increase in value from the same period in 2023. The international price of turmeric also rose by 32% to $2.28 per kilogram. The Netherlands remained the primary export destination, but its share fell to 32.6%, with Canada and Spain becoming more significant markets, accounting for 23.2% and 14.9% of shipments, respectively.
