Peruvian turmeric exports experienced remarkable growth in August 2024, reaching a total of 295 tons worth $672,000. This represents an increase of 16% in volume and 53% in value compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from FreshFruit. During this month, the international price of turmeric also showed an increase of 32%, trading at $2.28 per kilogram. The Netherlands remained the main export destination, although its share decreased from 50.4% to 32.6% of shipments. This country imported 121 tons, generating revenues of $219,000, with an average price of $1.80 per kilogram.
