Peruvian yacon shipments grew 32.2% in the first four months of the year

Peruvian yacon exports, from January to April 2025, reached 77.9 tons. These shipments showed a 32.2% growth in volume compared to the same period of the previous year. This increase allowed reaching 14 markets, reported international trade analyst Heber Chávez. He pointed out that the main destination was France, which represented 30.6% in this period, while Colombia positioned itself as the second market, with 21.9% participation. The remaining countries represented 47.5% participation for this product. The spokesperson detailed that shipments this year were made by 18 different companies. The main ones were: Andean Roots S.R.L. (the primary one), followed by Fuxion Biotech S.A.C. The exported presentations were yacon syrup, yacon powder, and other presentations.
