The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts that the Philippines' pork imports will rise to 500,000 tons in 2024, up from a previous estimate of 445,000 tons, with a 10.6% year-on-year increase to 254,000 tons as of May. The USDA also predicts steady pig production at 1.05 million tons and a 2% increase in consumption to 1.59 million tons. Additionally, Philippine chicken imports are expected to grow to 465,000 tons, with production up by 3% to 1.54 million tons and consumption reaching 1.99 million tons.
