Peru's National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) has introduced compulsory phytosanitary measures for importing sprouted oil palm seeds (Elaeis guineensis) from Honduras, as outlined in Directorial Resolution No. D000012-2024-Midagri-Senasa-DSV, announced on March 24 in El Peruano. This initiative is designed to safeguard Peruvian agriculture by reducing the risk of introducing quarantine pests through these imports, ensuring a higher level of agricultural protection.
