Poland: Imports of potatoes from outside the EU are prohibited, including from Ukraine

The matter was specifically explained by the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection, which stated directly that the import of potatoes from outside the European Union, including Ukraine, is illegal. Why? Can potatoes be imported to Poland from Ukraine? Turns out not. And not only from Ukraine, but also from other countries not belonging to the Community. However, there are some exceptions to this case. - In accordance with the phytosanitary regulations of the European Union, the import of potatoes from non-EU countries (including Ukraine) is prohibited. Such shipments may not be introduced into the territory of the Republic of Poland and the European Union and may not be placed on the market. The exception are table potatoes from Switzerland and Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey - the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service said in a press release.
