Pixie fruit, a profitable and nutritious citrus variety, is becoming popular in Kenya, especially in regions such as Machakos, Kitui, and Voi. Large-scale grower, Justus Kimeu, finds it more profitable than oranges, with prices three times higher per kilo. The plant is suitable for arid and semi-arid areas, particularly sandy soils, but needs protection from extreme temperatures. It can grow up to an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level.
